Recipes using Spice 'N Easy Chinese Five Spice blend
3 cups carrots, chopped on the diagonal into 1/4 to 1/2 inch pieces, or baby carrots
3/4 cup water
2 tablespoons light soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon
Spice 'N Easy™ Chinese 5 Spice powder


If using whole carrots, wash and chop the carrots. Combine the water, soy sauce
and sugar and set aside.
Melt the butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the carrots then the
five-spice
powder, mixing well to coat the carrots.
In a small bowl mix the water, soy sauce and sugar mixture until well blended and
add to the pan and mix well with the carrots. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and
gently simmer about 10 minutes or until carrots are tender. Uncover. Turn the heat
up to high and cook the carrots, stirring occasionally, until the liquid evaporates (5 to
7 minutes).
Serve hot
